Register your business name on our internal list of Business Names to be protected from passing off. By registering your business’ name, a thorough search will be completed to ensure your business name is available and can be protected. This search does not include a trade mark search which is an additional service.

Business Name Protection

Your business name will be protected from Passing off, otherwise known as name copying.  Should a business start trading within your sector and business area with the same name as yours, we will help determine whether there is a case of passing off and if so, represent you. We will enter communication and negotiations on your behalf to help you restore your business’ reputation and profitability to what it was before the passing off case.

Legal cost covered

We will determine whether there is likely to be a case of ‘Passing off’, if there is, we will begin correspondence on your behalf, we are able to draft cease and desist letters and mutual agreements.  Additionally, we can enter negotiations requesting the alternative business rebrands and changes its name and we can draft undertakings to this affect.  If this does not result in a change of business name from the alternative business, we are able to gain further legal opinion and instruct solicitors to file an application at Court and to commence legal proceedings to stop the Passing off continuing.  Business Name Protection offers cover for up to £10,000 worth of legal costs through the ‘Passing Off Assistance’ contained within it.

Using our Registered office address facility ensures that your home address is kept off the public record at Companies House. All post received is forwarded to your nominated address accordingly.

Company formation

We will incorporate your private limited company and email your company documents as per your requirements. From year 2, we will file your confirmation statement (previously annual return) at Companies House for you when it is due.

Trade Mark Search

Our parent company – National Business Register can undertake a comprehensive trade mark search for you at a cost of £99+ VAT.  Following the search a report will be provided outlining whether there are any current marks registered under the name or logo you wish to use, and if so, in what classes they have been registered in.

Additional Domain Name

Includes an additional domain.

You can buy further additional domains at a cost of £30 per year.
